SUCHI
Oslo-born, London-bred, and Delhi-influenced DJ and producer named as one of the top 25 artists to watch by Mixmag and 12 artists you need to listen to in DJ Mag in 2022. Last year included sets at By.Larm, Fabric, Warehouse Project, Sonar Festival, Lost Village, Field Day, ADE, an Australia tour supporting Jon Hopkins and a Boiler Room India tour with Parris and Nikki Nair.
As a producer, SUCHI peppers her productions with flavours from all the places she's lived in (Oslo, London, Delhi, New York, and now Manchester). Whether it’s Norwegian Sami Joik fused with broken beat or soft tabla percussions weaved into ethereal vocals, she continues to define her sound through the musical inspirations she grew up with.
Her DJ sets follow a similar suit resulting in a crisscross of genres that spans eras and scenes, from experimental club, percussion to prog, house and techno. With close links to artists in her hometowns, SUCHI continues to explore her passion for global dance music with a focus on Scandinavian and South Asian artists.
SUCHI’s debut EP ‘Swift’ released on Coastal Haze received critical acclaim in DJ Mag, Mixmag and Resident Advisor. Her single ‘Seher’, featuring the vocals of Qawwali singer, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan premiered as Mary Anne Hobb’s ‘Near Future’ track on BBC R6.
