Surusinghe
Meet Surusinghe, the genre-bending producer known for her innovative and percussive, bass-driven music. Born in Naarm/Melbourne and now residing in London, she has a unique blend of international influences that is reflected in her sound. Surusinghe's high energy sets and dynamic sound has sen her being booked at some of Europe's finest dance floors such as Panorama Bar, Garage Noord, Printworks, Sub Club and KOKO, and festivals Field Day, Waterworks, Lost Village, Snowbombing, FLY Open Air and Dialled In.
Her debut EP was released last August via Steel City Dance Discs to rave reviews and support by some of electronic music's leading tastemakers such as Jamie xx, HAAi and VTSS. The EP soon became a firm favourite for DJ's during the summer festival circuit with Resident Advisor going as far as to declare 'GO TO' in their list of best tracks at Draaimolen Festival, and Mixmag featuring club-standout ‘HEAVEN' in their top tracks of 2022, solidifying Surusinghe's position as a rising star in the electronic scene.
With 2023 holding no signs of slowing down, Surusinghe kicked off the year by being listed in NME's 100 Essential Emerging Artists of 2023 before embarking on an 8 date homecoming tour of Australia that included a sold out Meanjin/Brisbane show at CYBER, and has been announced as one of RINSE radio's newest residents.
Off the back of 'Get Flutey' which cemented her as the pick of dance music's most uncompromising emerging talents, Surusinghe is honoured to be gearing up for her next release on the seminal AD 93 label. Forthcoming 'Brake Fluid' EP is bold music for the brain and body at its absolute best. Lead single ‘Bop’ moulds all of her influences into a singular expression - at once powerful and nimble, and unlike anything else. With more music to come, this is just the beginning for Surusinghe.
