In 2020, after a lengthy hiatus from front-line music production, Krust managed to achieve the near-impossible feat of successfully delivering his new album project ‘The Edge Of Everything’ to widespread critical acclaim at the height of the global pandemic, and six months since the last time anyone had set foot on a dance floor.
Released on Crosstown Rebels, it was described as a “stunning comeback” by Resident Advisor, “confounding expectations and breaking boundaries” by Pitchfork and “a future focussed, synth heavy, sci-fi opus” by Mojo.
This comeback album, three years in the making, was written as a calling card marking the start the next chapter of his career. Flying in the face of all perceived wisdom it resolutely proved that it is possible to deliver impactful dance music to a wide and appreciative audience at a time when the simple act of dancing in numbers is forbidden.
Nominated as ‘Album of the Year’ by DJ Mag, ‘The Edge of Everything’ was immediately followed by a string of single remixes from a wide roster of artists such as Batu, LCY, Masters At Work, Calibre, Damian Lazarus and Four Tet delivering his first ever drum and bass remix.
Looking forward, Krust is currently working on a new live show to be debuted later this year, has recently scored a short documentary due for release in July and is busy in the studio working on new material.
